F1 2012 Release Date Confirmed

Australian and New Zealand Formula 1 fans were greeted to some great news yesterday, as Codemasters announced that Formula 1 2012 will be released on the 20th September and 21st September in the UK for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. Formula 1 2012 is the next annual release of the Formula 1 racing franchise, being released exclusively by Codemasters on a multi-year deal with the Formula One World Championship. Bringing the intense feeling of Formula 1 racing to your home, like never before.

Along with the release date announcement a developer diary was release, this video details several new features being added to F1 2012 including, Young Driver Test (Tutorial mode). This video also shows some of the first glimpses of gameplay from the game. Creative Director Stephen Hood commented on the inclusion of Young Driver Test, “The aim for the 2012 game is to make more of a complete Formula One experience. [The Young Driver Test] gives those up and coming drivers track time to showcase their talents and it’s wonderful that we are able to copy the elements that happen on those real Young Driver Test sessions in the game.”

F1 2012 has been able to improve on its control and feedback on the race cars, enabling racers a more realistic experience. There will also be tutorial hot laps of each circuit, narrated by former Formula One driver Anthony Davidson, allowing players to get as much help as possible before they hit the track.
With a host of additional features including technical advancements in gameplay and co-op multiplayer modes this is the perfect Formula One gaming experience. Featuring all the 2012 drivers, teams and circuits and the inclusion of the United States Grand Prix, F1 2012 looks to set the standard in F1 racing, we shall find out on September 20th.
